When you die, what will be said at your funeral about you? Were you dedicated to your spouse/significant other, or were you unfaithful? Were you fair or did you cheat people? Did you help people or did you hurt them? Did you take responsibility for your actions or did you blame others? Do you help others or do you screw them over? Did you tell the truth or did you lie? Were you able to let people be who they were or did you control them? Do you make changes or excuses? Were you trustworthy with other hearts or abusive and careless? Do you assist others or do you step on them to get what you want? Did you share or did you hoard? Can you say you’ve made the best decisions you could or were your decisions made in haste and out of personal gratification? Did you spread love or hate? Were you patient or rash? Do you make amends with those you’ve hurt or do you pour salt on their wounds? If you can achieve happiness, is it of a pure heart or is it of selfishness and the expense of others? Can you live with a clean conscious if people speak ill of you? Will you die happy or unhappy? Was there more good in your life or bad? Were you someone to be remembered or someone to be forgotten?

When your life is being spoken of, will truths be told about you or lies? Will people be able to agree with the “good things” that are said about you or will they know differently? Will people attend your funeral because they are paying respects or lip service? Life is too short to live unhappily. We need to make the most of our lives and we need to reach out to those who also need help.

Be kind to strangers and those you know today, you never know who you will need to call on tomorrow.
